The Role of apprentice printer engineer will involve:
• Refurbishment of Copiers by repairing/exchanging any faulty or worn parts.
• Overseeing the trained engineers on service calls for our clients.
• Assisting in the installation of new devices into our clients.
• Shadowing the IT team as they deliver remote support for our clients
• Delivering consumables to our customers
1. Installation and Setup:
- Install photocopying machines and related equipment at client locations.
- Configure printers, copiers, and multifunction devices to meet specific client needs.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of photocopying equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in copiers, printers, and related devices.
- Replace worn or broken parts, such as toner cartridges, drums, fusers, and paper trays.
- Ensure that machines are operating at optimal levels, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.
3. Technical Support:
- Provide remote or on-site technical support to clients regarding machine issues.
- Answer technical queries and offer guidance on the efficient use of equipment.
- Assist customers with software and connectivity issues related to photocopying equipment.
4. Upgrades and Modifications:
- Install software updates and firmware upgrades to improve functionality and security.
- Modify machines or install accessories to enhance capabilities (e.g., additional paper trays, network connectivity).
5. Testing and Calibration:
- Conduct quality control tests to ensure machines are producing clear, high-quality copies.
- Calibrate devices to maintain color accuracy, resolution, and speed.
6. Customer Training:
- Train clients on the proper operation and maintenance of their photocopying equipment.
- Educate users about troubleshooting minor problems and performing basic upkeep.
7. Inventory Management:
- Keep track of parts and supplies, such as toners and paper.
- Order and manage inventory to ensure stock levels remain adequate for repairs and maintenance.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Submit detailed reports on work completed, including issues found and parts replaced.
9. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that photocopying machines meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Implement safety protocols during installations and repairs to avoid accidents.
10. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Provide feedback to customers on how to maximize machine performance and extend the lifespan of the equipment.

Driving is beneficial but non-drivers will be considered on the basis that they will learn to drive in the near-future.
