APPRENTICE SERVICE ENGINEER

We are looking for an Apprentice Service Engineer to be based from our Leyland office/service centre who will be expected to: -

 

Assist any service engineer in all aspects of their day to day duties that could/will include: -

 

• SERVICE WORK

• BREAKDOWN WORK

• INSTALLATION WORK

• SYSTEM MONITORING AND INVESTIGATING

• WORKSHOP MAINTENANCE

 

You will be keen to accept responsibility and willing to work flexible hours to get the job done, with an ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team is essential

 

This role will involve extensive travel across the North West of England in support of our service engineers 

 

 

 

 

We will expect an apprentice after a period of in-house and college training sessions to be able to but not limited to:-

 

SERVICE WORK

• As guided by the manufacture maintain regular servicing schedules for compressors and associated equipment including oil changes, filter changes, cooling system cleaning and machine protection systems

• Complete reports as required to ensure the proper operation of compressors and associated equipment 

• Identify additional areas of concern and document

• Maintain all records related to operations, parts used, maintenance performed, necessary clearances and inform the Supervisor of parts to maintain proper inventory

 

BREAKDOWN WORK

• Conduct preliminary investigations into damage/issue with a compressor and/or associated equipment and if possible repair

• Maintain all records related to operations, parts used, maintenance performed, necessary clearances and inform the Supervisor of parts to maintain proper inventory

 

INSTALLATION WORK

• Follow instruction on NEW system design and install in accordance with management instructions.  Works will include:-

• New Compressor installations and or associated equipment

• New pipework installation including 

(Galv. Steel, Aluminium & Plastic systems)

• Maintain all records related to operations, parts used, maintenance performed, necessary clearances and inform the Supervisor of parts to maintain proper inventory

 

SYSTEM MONITORING AND INVESTIGATING

• Install system monitoring equipment called “Data logger” to check air volume used, peaks and troughs in volume, pressure and time

• Conduct preliminary site investigations into system usage by checking and recording system integrity (Leak detection & repair if possible), if unable to repair mark and record

• Conduct air purity test using standard test equipment

• Maintain all records related to operations, parts used, maintenance performed and inform the Supervisor of parts to maintain proper inventory

 

WORKSOP MAINTENANCE

• Ensure the workshop and training area are in a clean and safe working condition and maintain standards
