ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT APPRENTICE

Working in the Finance department, the post holder would report to the Company Accountant, and work alongside 6 other colleagues in the department.

The role provides a great opportunity for progression for the right person. We'd like to see the accounts assistant progress into that role in due course.
 
The role would be supported and mentored by the Company Accountant and the Assistant Accountant. 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • General administrative support for the Finance Director and Company Accountant
  • Preparation and processing of sales invoices and liaise with customers as required
  • Credit Control
  • Processing and checking monthly expenses and mileage claims
  • Managing the monthly costing process
  • Producing monthly cost reports
  • Assist with filing of documentation and archiving processes
  • Ensure that Company procedures are followed correctly and report any breaches to the Company Accountant
  • Liaison with operational and service departments as required
  • Communicate and liaise with all other staff and supervisors to provide a teamwork approach to problem solving and carrying out tasks
  • Assist with Purchase Ledger, Sub-contractors and payroll when required.

WORKING HOURS PER WEEK

39 hours per week, mon-thurs 8.45 - 17.00 and fri 8.45 - 15.30, with a 40 minute lunch break each day.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Maths & English at Gracde 4/C or above
