Marya Momand, the College’s 16-18 student governor, came to the UK from Afghanistan three years ago with her family.
When Marya first came to the UK she couldn’t speak English. Marya studied ESOL for two years and then completed a one year scholarship at the University of Central Lancashire.
Marya completed one year of Level 2 Health and Social Care and is currently studying Level 3 Applied Science.
Marya’s ambition is to become a doctor, an ambition she has held since childhood.
Marya’s thrilled to be studying an area which has been her lifelong ambition and is grateful for the support of her parents and teachers.
