Preston college is proud to be an official provider of the Modular Acceleration Programme (MAP) – a transformative, flexible and targeted learning opportunity funded by the Department of Education.
The Modular Acceleration Programme (MAP) is a new two-year government pilot, providing free tuition fees for learners looking to study specific modules from our Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) in construction and engineering.
MAP modules are derived from full HTQs which align with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for specific job roles according to the relevant Occupational Standards. They are also recognised as an Institute of Technology (IoT) course, with a particular emphasis on enhancing digital literacy within the construction sector.
The MAP is designed for individuals looking to retrain in a new career or upskill to enhance existing career prospects, and who meet the following eligibility criteria:

At Preston College, our MAP modules are essentially short courses that are designed to provide higher technical education for the construction or engineering sectors:
Each MAP module will take 12 weeks to complete, and combines guided learning with independent study.
