Wednesday 18th September 2019 saw Preston’s College play host to its largest ever Freshers’ Fair! With attendance from over 50 local and regional exhibitors, including Blackburn Ice Arena, Escape Reality Preston, British Army, Shoppertainment Management and a caricature artist, offering everything from information to student discounts and freebies!
Exhibitors in the health and wellbeing zone included the NHS, Papyrus, Lancashire Mind and Samaritans, with learners also being afforded the opportunity to find out more about higher education opportunities at UCLan and University of Derby, as well as a wide range of careers and volunteering opportunities.
A highlight of the event was the flash mob, performed by the highly talented Preston’s College Dance learners.
The event, offering the ultimate student experience, was the perfect way to welcome both new and returning learners to campus and was enjoyed by all of those who attended.
Beckie, from LeVel, Preston’s newest venue, commented: “Thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of the Freshers’ Fair! It was great to meet all the staff and learners at Preston’s College. We had a great time!”
With Beth, from Shoppertainment Management, adding, “Thank you so much for having us at the student fair, it was really great!”
Speaking about the day, Pastoral Co-ordinator, Nathan said: “The Freshers’ Fair at Preston’s College is an amazing opportunity for our learners to meet new people, help grow their confidence and find out what the College has to offer. In addition, it puts our learners in direct contact with a wide range of external agencies that can provide support, advice and voluntary work experience opportunities, such opportunities ultimately help develop our learners’ progression plans and future aspirations.”
Preston’s College would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the exhibitors for attending the event and helping us to make it a great day for all of our learners.
