Engineering courses at Preston College are housed in the impressive iSTEM Centre – a multi million pound, purpose built facility offering a dynamic learning environment. iSTEM is home to advanced manufacturing workshops, a subsonic wind tunnel, 3D printers and purpose built welding bays, all designed to help you formulate ideas, test briefs and present findings.

Engineering continues to be a highly sought after profession, with engineers and technicians amongst some of the most in-demand positions in the world.

Our Welding courses are offered at Levels 1 to 3, with all beginners starting on the Level 1 MIG, TIG or MMA pathway. Progression to Level 2 and Level 3 is possible, with opportunities for free Level 3 study, depending upon personal circumstances and already held qualifications.
