The broad purpose of the occupation is to create, implement and adapt tailored holistic and wellbeing experiences, in a variety of environments, meeting and managing treatment and experience outcomes in private, secure and safe environments.
Wellbeing therapists deliver specific treatments such as; aromatherapy, acupressure (manual digit pressure massage applied by the hands to specific points on the face or body) and holistic massage (therapeutic hands-on massage therapy that affects the clients physical, emotional and mental wellbeing), Indian head massage, lymphatic drainage and wellness experiences
In their daily work, this occupation interacts with other health and non-health care practitioners including therapists such as beauty, spa, wellbeing and holistic as part of multi-disciplinary teams and sometimes and clinical specialists.
An employee in this occupation will be responsible for the time management of the treatments and wellbeing experiences they deliver, the safety and wellbeing of themselves and the clients.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Develop and create client lifestyle profiles from which holistic therapy treatments and well-being
Plan holistic, thermal treatments (heat applied by direct or indirect means) and wellbeing experience schedules.
Provide holistic therapy treatments and wellness experiences for improving the condition of the client's physical and emotional welfare and wellbeing.
Adhere to health and safety, legal and organisational requirements.

They can work as individuals or as part of diverse teams to provide a wellbeing offering to clients, reporting to a manager or lead practitioner if part of a multi-disciplinary team.
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
The Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist Level 3 apprenticeship employs a variety of teaching methods to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
It will be a one-day delivery, with a combination of underpinning knowledge, practical demonstrations and training from industry experts.
The training will take place in our on-site massage salon with products and equipment of the highest quality.
You'll receive a combination of classroom-based instruction and practical hands-on training.
Classroom sessions will cover theoretical knowledge, including anatomy and physiology, body analysis, product knowledge, and advanced treatment techniques.
Practical training will allow you to apply these skills under the guidance of experienced tutors, honing your proficiency in advanced massage techniques and well-being practices.
Additionally, you'll receive one-on-one guidance from industry professionals and your assigned mentor in the workplace, providing valuable insights, feedback, and support as you develop your skills.
Self-directed study, research assignments, and portfolio building may also be incorporated to reinforce learning and assess your progress.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Learners can become a Spa/Salon manager, become self employed, work on cruise ships. Learners can also progress to higher education linking to different courses, for example, complimentary therapy, business management and teaching.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9
Initial assessment, progression from level 2 beauty therapist, and must be working in a beauty setting.
