TRAVEL & TOURISM - LEVEL 2

This one year course is designed to give you a solid grounding for a career in the Travel and Tourism industry. You will research and learn about worldwide destinations, events and attractions while exploring the career opportunities available in a range of different organisations.

 

 

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Our students enjoy topics including cabin crew safety, resort welcome meetings, customer service and designing advertising for tourism holidays.  You will learn about the airline and cruise sector, how to plan holidays and trips for different types of customers and research current (and future) popular destinations of the world.

You will also get to take part in work based projects, visits and residential trips to develop your experiences and improve your interview, presentation and communication skills.

There are two mandatory units for this qualification:

  • Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
  • The UK Travel and Tourism Industry

In addition there are a number of optional units studying subjects across a range of industry related topics such as:

  • Destinations
  • Visitor Attractions
  • Hospitality in Travel & Tourism
  • Organising an Event
  • Airports and Airlines.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

You will be taught in a busy and vibrant classroom environment using creative and innovative learning techniques involving group work, presentations and interactive tasks.

All our tutors share a wealth of experience from the Tourism and Events Industry, this knowledge will help you gain great insights and understanding about how the industry operates.

Some of your portfolio evidence will be gained from attending external events, which really brings your learning to life.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

You can progress to the Level 3 in Travel & Tourism and Hospitality course.

This course is relevant to the following careers: air cabin crew, travel consultant, holiday representative, travel service agent, event planning and visitor attractions.

All trips and visits travel arrangements are fully funded. You may be required to contribute to the entrance to some venues.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You need four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English Language and maths. The other subject should have a minimum of grade 2. You will also be required to attend an interview to discuss your suitabilty for the course.
