This Level 2 qualification in plumbing is designed to advance your knowledge and skills in preparation for the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Gas. You will cover hot water, cold water, sanitation and central heating units which are essential for the plumbing sector. Preston College have great relationships with local employers and part of this course will include an employer set project so you can put your new skills and knowledge into practice.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
You will be taught in the Construction Centre with practical areas for a range of plumbing activities. You will also be taught the underpinning knowledge in the classroom.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
On successful completion of Level 2 you can seek employment as an Apprentice to complete your training. At Preston College a lot of our learners are recruited by employers from our Level 2 course into an Apprenticeship. The Level 3 in Plumbing and Gas is an ideal next step.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
There are opportunities to demonstrate your skills and abilities through SkillBuild and other related competitions. You'll need your own stationery and personal protective equipment including safety boots and work clothing. All other tools and equipment are provided.
Additional Opportunities
Learners with a grade 4 in English and maths will also study an sustainability skills qualification.
Learners with a grade 4 in English or maths will study additional units in sustainabilty without gaining the full qualification.
Learners without a grade 4 in English or maths will study both subjects as part of their Study Programme.
Qualification Title: City & Guilds - Level 2 Technical Certificate in Plumbing
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You will need four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above and English Language and maths at grade 4. You will also be required to attend an interview to discuss your suitability for the course.
