Growth in streaming services and consumer demand for fresh and entertaining content means the film industry has a bright future, and opportunities to get into this industry have never been higher.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

On this course you will be given an exploratory look into different avenues within creative media production such as:-

  • Filming
  • Editing using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • Photography
  • Graphic Design
  • Audio Production
  • Interactive Media
  • Motion Graphics with Adobe After Effects

Throughout the course you will have access to our purpose built television studio with industry standard Black Magic studio cameras and live editing mixer. You will use a range of image capture hardware such as our Ronin Gimbal, Camera Crane and 360 degree camera to produce exciting professional film outcomes. You will work in our Photography studios and complete projects in our Student led film Production Company; Park Productions where the films produced are sent to film festivals in order to gain potential IMDB credits. You will contribute towards Our Re:Play web show hosted in our TV studio and celebrate the year at our End of year Oscars event. You will have the opportunity to go on a number of trips, including London, Berlin and Paris.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

There are no exams on our course! You will be assessed throughout the year via practical, creative projects that cover the range of skills needed to progress in industry. These include creating short films, advertisement campaigns, music videos, documentary filmmaking and photography, and visual and audio for television and film, before a final, self-directed project of your own choosing, where you are free to show off what you have learnt.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

You will need basic stationery, headphones, USB memory stick and an SD card. External hard drives would be an advantage but are not essential.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You need four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above including English Language and maths.
