We offer a full-time (3 days a week) course to our 16-18 learners. There are four levels, from beginners to intermediate (First Steps — Entry 3). The classes run from September until June, but you can join throughout the year (subject to availability).
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
We will teach you skills to help you improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as learning about life in the UK. You will also study maths, IT and some vocational subjects. All of these important skills will help you to progress into education and employment.
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
All lessons are taught in college with experienced and qualified teachers. You will be expected to take an active part in your learning and complete group and individual tasks. You will have classmates the same age as you from all over the world. You will be assigned a Personal Tutor who will be your main point of contact.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
You will be assessed before you begin the course to make sure you are placed in the correct level class. You will be assessed throughout the year, so your teachers can check your progress. You will also be able to take exams to get nationally recognised qualifications.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
All our successful Entry 3 ESOL learners have progressed onto further study on a course of their choice, many have gone to university and have successfully gained employment after completing their course.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
You will be asked to provide residency proof, for example, proof of pre-settled/settled status in the UK (if you were not born in the UK). Please bring any high school certificates that you have from your country.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You will need to apply for the ESOL course. Once we receive your application we will invite you for an assessment and a chat with the ESOL team.
