MOTORCYCLE MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS – LEVEL 1

Level: Level 1

This qualification has been designed specifically for those who have a passion for motorbikes and are keen to learn more about the basics of bike maintenance and repair for their own use.

If motorcycles are your hobby, this course is for you!

Please note, this course is non-accredited. Upon successful completion you will receive a skills based Preston College certificate.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

As part of the course you will explore key units in:

  • Introduction to the retail automotive maintenance and repair industry
  • Motorcycle construction
  • Routine maintenance motorcycle chassis systems 
  • Motorcycle engines
  • Motorcycle transmission systems 
  • Motorcycle electrical and electronic systems 
  • Motorcycle fuel, ignition, air and exhaust system units and components
  • Introduction to low carbon technologies in the automotive industry

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

This is a practical, hands-on programme with ongoing feedback and assessment built into the course.

You will be taught in purpose built workshops, with all PPE and tools provided.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

As a non-accredited course, all assessments will be by way of practical tasks and informal tutor assessment.
