MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

The Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship is designed to equip aspiring professionals with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic field of maintenance and operations within the engineering sector.

The programme offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, including equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance strategies, and advanced repair techniques.

Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in working with various machinery and systems, developing a deep understanding of how to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of industrial equipment.

Emphasis is placed on cultivating problem-solving abilities,developing a proactive approach to maintenance, and instilling a commitment to safety protocols.

Throughout the apprenticeship, participants will work alongside experienced mentors, engaging in projects that provide valuable insights into the day-to-day challenges of maintenance and operations engineering.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Apprentices in this programme will also receive training in the latest technological advancements in the field, ensuring they stay abreast of industry trends and emerging best practices.

The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience prepares individuals for roles in diverse industries, such as manufacturing, energy, and aerospace.

By the end of the apprenticeship, participants will have developed a strong foundation in maintenance and operations engineering, positioning them as competent and skilled professionals ready to contribute to the success of any organisation requiring expertise in equipment reliability and performance optimisation.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Apprentices will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship through a variety of on-the-job and off-the-job training, course work and portfolio building. The End Point Assessment towards completion of the apprenticeship will comprise of:

  • Knowledge Assessment (30 multiple choice questions)
  • Practical Observation
  • Technical Interview

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants will require to have Grade 4 in both maths and English and 5 GCSE passes in any other subjects at Grade 4 or above.
