This Level 3 course will build on your existing skills and understanding of hairdressing so you can become a senior stylist. Supported by highly qualified tutors with extensive industry knowledge, you will have the opportunity to operate a commercial salon service in Elements, our campus hair and beauty salon.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Mandatory Units:
Creatively style and dress hair
Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques
Creatively colour and lighten hair
Provide client consultation services
You will select a minimum of two additional units from a range of 10 optional units which includes:
Provide hair extension services
Create a variety of permed effects
Hair colour correction services
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
As a qualified stylist at Level 2, you will already possess the basic skills in Hairdressing. Your tutors will build on these skills by providing high quality demonstrations on advanced cutting, colouring and colour correction techniques.
Your creative skills will also be developed by working on advanced creative styling and Avant Garde creations.
Your skills and techniques will be assessed in a real working environment, operated by the Level 3 creative team, fully supervised by your assessor.
You will continue to develop your knowledge of the science underpinning advanced colouring and this will be assessed through coursework and online examinations.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
When you complete this qualification you will be eligible to become a State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) with the Hairdressing Council and can seek employment as a senior stylist.

You will be required to wear all black in your salon sessions, and comfortable, covered shoes. All the equipment and products you need will be provided in our well equipped and stocked salons.
There is an option to purchase your own kit if you wish.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You need a Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing and good people, communication and dexterity skills as well as the desire to work with the general public in a professional manner. You will also need to complete a skills assessment and have a progression interview.
