The Level 2 in Applied Science is a vocational course that has been designed to develop your practical skills alongside academic knowledge in Chemistry, Biology and Physics. You will also learn to use maths skills to analyse and present the data that you collect.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Chemistry: You will learn about the different types of substances and elements on the Earth, the application of chemical substances and analysing chemicals.
Biology: You will learn about organisms and their environments, how human behaviour affects other animals, health applications and the human body.
Physics: You will learn about energy, electricity and the solar system including investigating motion, light and sound waves and electricity.
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
You will be taught by experienced science professionals in our industry standard iSTEM Centre equipped with dual use classrooms and laboratories.
You will need to buy a laboratory coat for practical work in the lab and equipment including a folder, pens, pencils and a scientific calculator. You will study work skills as part of the course, which will give you valuable skills in applying for jobs, writing a CV and preparing for interviews.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You need four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above including English and maths. You will be required to attend an interview to discuss your suitability for the course.
