The AAT qualification provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to work in an accounting environment, and is the ideal qualification for anyone wanting to work as an accounting technician. The requirements of this course are based on nationally agreed standards of competence. This course is ideally suited for those who already have a basic knowledge of the accounting environment, either through previous study or through practical experience.

You will be based with your employer four days per week and attend Preston College one day per week. Classes will be taught by experienced professionals through a range of classroom activities designed to apply your learning to real life situations.
Apprentices may be able to progress onto Level 3 or 4 Apprenticeship standards with Preston College including:

An accounting apprenticeship at level 2 requires you to have a grade 4 in English and Maths. Depending on your prior attainment level, you may be required to complete an initial assessment to check suitability for entry onto the programme. Furthermore, all candidates will have an interview with the Apprenticeship Specialist to assess suitably before being accepted on to an apprenticeship programme.
