This 7-week course is ideal for complete beginners and perfect if you are interested in learning the basics of the Arabic language - a language with deep historical and cultural roots. As the official language of the Arab League and spoken by over 300 million people around the world, Arabic plays a key role in global politics, business, and diplomacy.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Through the duration of this practical course you will learn Arabic in a way that emphaises real-life communiction and cover various topics including:
Greetings and Introductions
Common greetings for various times of day
Introducing oneself and asking for someone’s name
Responding politely in introductory conversations
Key Phrases for Daily Interactions
Simple conversational phrases (e.g., “How are you?”, “Thank you”, “Please”)
Basic polite expressions to build confidence in interaction
Essential Vocabularly
Words for everyday items, family members, numbers, and colors
Focus on vocabulary relevant to beginner conversations
Arabic Alphabet and Pronunciation
Recognising and writing the Arabic letters
Basic pronunciation of each letter and common sounds in Arabic
Introduction to short vowels and simple reading exercises
Basic Sentence Structures
Simple sentence formation (e.g., “This is a…” and “I am…”)
Building sentences to describe oneself and others
Using basic question forms to foster simple dialogues
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
Teaching will take place in the classroom, using visual aids, posters, labels, worksheets provided for each topic and authentic materials creating a language-rich environment immersed in Arabic. You will be encouraged to keep a portfolio of the work completed each week and we advise that you make additional notes throughout the course to further assist your learning. You will learn independently and in pairs.
Throughout the course, you will be asked to complete a range of written, spoken and listening exercises, as well as ROTE learning activites including role-plays. Homework will also be set inbetween classes.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
There is no formal assessment required for this course but your progress and understanding will be monitored by our experienced tutor who will offer advice, answer any questions posed throughout the session as well as homework tasks set. This will all be carried out in an informal and relaxed manner, creating a fun environment designed to encourage learning.
You are encouraged to keep a notebook to document your progress.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
If you have mastered the basic techniques on this course, you may wish to continue your studies on another language course on offer or maybe try something completely different with one of our other creative craft courses. You may also consider enrolling in an intermediate Arabic course to further develop your language skills. The tutor will discuss your options with you at the end of your course.
