HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
As a trainee stylist at Preston College, you will have access to Elements, our onsite, bespoke Hairdressing salon. This realistic working environment is the ideal place for you to perfect your skills and confidence. Our salons are fully stocked with the equipment and supplies that you need to successfully achieve your qualification.
Experienced hairdressing tutors will provide practical demonstrations and specialised support so that after a period of training you can be assessed on training heads and live models. You will also learn how to work as a team, with fellow learners and develop skills in positive communication and selling.
Some written work is needed to help you fully understand the techniques and products. For this, you will produce task sheets and project briefs. There are no formal examinations attached to this qualification.
We aim to provide a programme of study that is engaging and exciting. Our enrichment offer includes competitions, external guest speakers and visits to hairdressing related events.
You will be required to wear black clothing and comfortable, covered shoes in the salon environment.
You will be provided with all other equipment and products that you need.
