EDUCATION & TRAINING - LEVEL 3 AWARD

Duration: 10 weeks
Level: Level 3

The Level 3 Education and Training Award provides an introduction to teaching and explores roles and responsibilities associated with teaching. It offers a mix of practical teaching ideas and activities, alongside the acquisition of theory and up-to-date research on both education and the wider sector. As part of the programme, you can expect to study a range of topics, including:

  • Planning and delivery of inclusive sessions, including engaging and motivating learners
  • Respecting boundaries within a learning environment
  • Assessment methods
  • Importance of accurate record keeping

The delivery of an observed micro-teaching session is a requirement of this qualification, which will see you deliver a short lesson to your peers in your class.

In addition, to delivering the micro-teaching session, you will be assessed by a variety of other methods such as written assignments, lesson observations and reflective logs.

This course is delivered in-person at Preston College.

To join this course, no prior knowledge of education is required – just a willingness to learn.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

On successful completion you could progress onto the Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education if you meet all of the entry requirements.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need to have a GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths. If you don't have these qualifications you will be required to complete a diagnostic assessment to confirm suitability for the course.

No prior knowledge of education is required, just a willingness to learn.
