CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISOR

This professional qualification is designed to help progress your career in the industry, moving into areas such as project management, construction design, quantity and building surveying or architectural technology. It also offers entry to related degrees at university or in junior management positions in the industry.

  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget 

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

To pass the Apprenticeship you must achieve a Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths & English if you do not already hold the qualifications.

You will also be assessed by:

  • Multiple choice tests
  • End Point Assessment

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

You can progress onto degree level qualifications in Professional Construction such as Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Project Management and Building Surveying.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

The main duties and tasks of a Construction Site Supervisor are:

  • Supervision of specialist contractors
  • The control of health and safety standards on construction projects
  • Recording, control and reporting of progress on a construction project
  • The minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects
  • Control of quality of works on a construction project
  • Assisting commercial staff with the monitoring of costs on a construction project

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have evidence of the relevant Maths and English qualifications at GCSE grade C/4 (or equivalent) prior to enrolling onto the course. They must also hold a level 3 industry related qualification or have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within their role. A statement from your employer can be used in support your application. Additionally, you must already be working in a suitable role that meets the requirements for the apprenticeship. All candidates will have an interview with the Apprenticeship Specialist to assess suitably before being accepted on to an apprenticeship programme.
