COHESION AWARD WINNERS – SEPTEMBER 2024:

Maria Zubonja – Displayed an act of kindness towards another learner who was upset which alleviated the situation at that moment in time.

Mohammed Tamim Azimi – Handed an ID badge in when another learner had misplaced this.

Sam Taylor – Assisted a member of Staff who dropped items on the High Street and Sam went to help out.

Immogen Latham – Contributing to Campus Cohesion.

Leah Singleton – Assisting a learner from another area of College with information about ‘Cadets‘. This was relevant for their course.

Elisa Wilson – for attending Induction week when she didn’t need to be in college to support a new starter and help them find their room and settle into college.

Jamie Jackson & Melanie Williams – A new learner started College who was extremely anxious coming into a new environment. They offered to stay with them and even met them in the main reception. They both went above and beyond to help them to feel included and were shining examples of how to be welcoming and inclusive!

Kerry Santos – Having massively improved attitude and attendance.

Joshua Randal – after poor attendance last year he’s been in 100% and trying really hard on his course, plus he’s had a positive attitude.

Bianca – Lonela Ghilimei :  is new to the college this year, but has settled in brilliantly. Despite being younger than some of her classmates, Bianca is always willing to get involved in classrooms discussions, and offer her support to other students. Bianca consistently demonstrates a positive attitude both in and out of the classroom, making the most of every opportunity she is presented with. I think what I like most, is her willingness to help other students, regardless of any cultural differences, she is always supportive, being a voice for those who may find it more difficult. A really impressive start!

Morgan Taylor – He is doing exceptionally well and responded to an incident involving another learner in a positive manner.

Corey Hartley – He has made a marked improvement in his attitude and work ethic. He hasn’t engaged when other learners have been off task and has worked quietly completing all of his practical work to a high standard.

Ravindra Tayya – He has been fantastic so far. A great learner who always gives 100%. Helped out on open event and attended a UCAS open day visit.

Grace & Tanichea – They are both year 11 learners and have made such a fantastic start to their college journey. They navigate the college independently and attend their classes fully.  They actively engage in their child care lessons and have impressed their new tutors.

Alfie Newbury – He is always cheerful around college. He is polite, always says hello and asks me how my day is going. He is a pleasure to have in tutorials and never fails to put a smile on the tutor’s face.

Jake Bird – Demonstrating a polite and positive approach in tutorials. He deserves an award for showing a caring attitude towards the tutor and generally demonstrating core kindness values.

Anna Myerscough – A tutor had a new student in college and his anxieties were through the roof, so the tutor escorted him to his maths lesson to introduce him to his tutor and get him settled before the rest of the class arrived and Anna was already in the room.  Anna is not in his class but she overheard them talking and she came over and introduced herself to the nervous student.  She could not have been more welcoming, explaining what a great college we are, how lovely and helpful the staff are and that if he ever felt like he was on his own or worried that he could seek her out and she would be his friend. This showed real spirit.
