Apprenticeship partnership invests six figure sum
Six months after Preston’s College partnered with national apprenticeship training provider, JTL, businesses were invited in to see how over £100,000 has been invested on resources for Plumbing and Electro-Technical apprentices.
The funding has been invested in the latest industry standard equipment for Level 2 and 3 Plumbing and Level 3 Electro-Technical apprentices who are currently working for businesses across Lancashire.
The partnership sees local apprentices receive their apprenticeship training through JTL but based inside the Preston’s College construction centre.
Investment includes a suite of new power tools, thermal imaging and drainage inspection equipment as well as the latest augmented reality products which will ensure apprentices are at the forefront of industry technology.
The building services engineering partnership focuses on the delivery of apprenticeship provision, providing Lancashire employers with an effective solution for their training needs.
Already, the partnership has experienced an increase in apprenticeship numbers with ambitious growth targets set for the 2019/20 academic year.

The event also welcomed deputy leader of Preston City Council, Councillor Peter Moss, who provided guests with an update about the latest construction initiatives and City Deal developments.
