How long have you worked at Preston’s College? 6 years What apprenticeship did you study? Automotive Maintenance and Repairs Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship? I was a very practical person so an apprenticeship seemed like the most natural route for me. What did youmost enjoy about your apprenticeship? The depth and engagement with people with different levels of ability. Career highlight/s: Moving from workshop floor to middle management and then changing my career totally and moving into to a teaching role, graduating from my degree in Automotive engineering at later stage in life and achieving Head of School position. Now you work with apprentices what advice would you give them? Education is such a small part of your lifelong journey into the world of work, time flies, take on what you can and listen to what you’re taught. Be a part of the company you work for, they will invest time and effort into you AND pay you for it, don’t take it for granted.
