If you are a construction business, additional grants are available through CITB. An employer is required to pay an apprentice a salary. The National Minimum apprenticeship wage, regardless of age, is £4.81 per hour for the first year of their apprenticeship. Thereafter, it will rise to the National Minimum salary for their age.
