| 16 THE SALON WINS 5* AWARD DESPITE THIS WHIRLWIND YEAR Set in the heart of rural Cottam, Preston, The Salon at Maxy Farm is a luxury hair, beauty and aesthetics salon offering high-end treatments to their clients. Opened just two years ago, The Salon has quickly become a popular retreat for those looking to relax, rejuvenate and to enjoy a spot of pampering. Although 2020 was never the year anyone anticipated, The Salon didn’t sleep, and during lockdown underwent further refurbishment in preparation to welcome back their customers, new and old. Daniella Steenbergen, Salon Manager, has been with The Salon since December 2019. Here she speaks about this whirlwind year which brought with it many changes, but how she now only sees the positives going forward with her team and new recruits. “This year has been like no other. It has hit everyone hard, and in the first wave, none more so than that of the hair and beauty sector. Luckily we’ve been able to reopen and currently enjoying welcoming customers back to our brand new, new-look salon; we’re one of the lucky ones. Our clients and staff have been amazing and we couldn’t have wished for a better team of people to get through these last few months. Our customers have been remarkable, and have been so patient with everything as we tried so hard to reopen the salon, with all restrictions in place, but we’ve managed it and the salon is looking better than ever! Not only has The Salon undergone a full refurbishment in recent months, but it has recently been given the 5* Client Experience Award 2020, awarded by Phorest Salon Software. The Salon has recently entered the Salon Awards 2020 for ‘Best Client Experience’ and ‘Best New or Refurbished Salon.’ Daniella says: “We ae so proud to have been awarded 5* by Phorest. Our customers are why we do this job, and so to receive 5 out of 5 for our services is wonderful to hear. Our clients love us!” The Salon at Maxy Farm offers a full range of hair and beauty treatments including : all hair treatments; using Kerastase products, Olaplex, Kerastraight, Loreal and BeautyWorks hair extensions. Plus, all beauty treatments, including manicure, pedicure, waxing, eye treatments, individual lashes, microblading, massage, decleor facials, DermaQuest facials resurfacers and chemical peels. They also offer laser hair removal, thread vein & pigment reduction laser treatments. The Salon has an experienced Doctor who carries out all injectable treatments.
