As an apprentice I have gained so many new experiences, new skills and knowledge, much more compared to most 18 year olds. One of my most memorable days, was a residential stay at BRATHY, which helped me build skills in team work and will be an experience I’ll never forget. I think being paid for your education is great; the experience and qualifications I am gaining from doing the apprenticeship are really beneficial. My friends and family can see I have made a really great choice in studying towards an apprenticeship. Most of my friends are actually regretting not going for an apprenticeship as their choice of education, because they look at it now and see you can gain work experience and qualifications at the same time.” SAM, 18 “Being an apprentice is great, I get the opportunity to learn new things, be hands on in new environments, push myself to do new things and learn new skills. I thought that it was a good step forward in my career path and that it would help me in providing me with a new set of skills, but also it gives me experience in working with vulnerable people in communities across Merseyside.” DAN, 18 “I opted for an apprenticeship as I wasn’t very keen on going to university. It was handy for me as I had just finished my Prince’s Trust course with MRFS. My Mum and Dad were very supportive when I told them about the apprenticeship as they said that each day would be like a practical lesson and I’d get to learn new things every day. During my apprenticeship, I have learned how to be a professional, gained the skills to multi task, developed leadership skills and become a lot more confident. I would recommend the apprenticeship and the Prince’s Trust to everyone if they require help getting a job or need some experience.” KANE, 19
