In addition to teaching on the counselling degree here at Preston College, she runs a private practice and also counsel in schools, colleges and local organisations. Prior to training as a counsellor, she spent 15 years teaching functional skills in prisons and colleges and then academic study skills in Higher Education. Emma’s favourite part of teaching is the interaction with students. She loves being part of their journey of personal growth and witnessing their development into professional counsellors. The Counselling courses here at Preston College offer small group sizes, creating a relaxed environment which allows students to develop good relationships and foster a deep level of personal development. This small, supportive environment can feel more accessible to those who may have been out of education for a while.
