Jennifer – AAT Accounting Level 2 and Level 3 Initially quite apprehensive about starting the Level 2 AAT Accounting course, having been out of education for ten years and also concerned about how she would cope with exams due to anxiety, Jennifer quickly settled in and describes tutor, Kaye, as outstanding. Crediting Kaye with helping her to achieve so much more than she ever expected, Jennifer successfully passed the Level 2 course with a distinction. She has since progressed onto the AAT Accounting Level 3 Advanced Diploma and is hoping to start a bookkeeping business later this year, using the skills and knowledge acquired during her time at college. Commenting, Jennifer said: “It just goes to show what you can accomplish with hard work and excellent teaching, even during a global pandemic!” Nathan - ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management Certificate Nathan decided to join the ILM Leadership and Management Level 5 course to further develop his leadership skills and to help reflect upon how his leadership style both impacts and influences the behaviours of those within his team. Enjoying the programme and keen to explore the motivating people and effective leadership modules in more detail, Nathan commented: “The course offers a good balance of theory and practical discussion, with assessment by way of reflective report writing. The course is allowing me to develop my skills in the context of my current employment.” Charlotte - Level 2 Gym Instructor Charlotte began her career as a 16 year old engineering apprentice, progressing into engineering design and ultimately project management within the aerospace industry. After taking a career break to look after her two young children, Charlotte decided to enrol onto the Level 2 Gym Instructor course. Already hosting a series of local outdoor circuit classes, upon successful completion of her qualification, Charlotte has ambitions of offering 1-2-1 personal training to other females who are keen to become fitter and improve their nutritional knowledge. Anthony – Level 1 and Level 2 Plastering, Level 1 Wall and Floor Tiling Keen to pursue a practical course, having always been good working with his hands, Anthony joined Preston College to secure qualifications that would allow him to gain the skills and knowledge needed to work as a tradesman. Initially nervous to return to study, Anthony quickly progressed from the Level 1 to Level 2 Plastering programme, learning higher level skills in rendering and plastering. Now studying on Level 1 Wall and Floor Tiling, Anthony hopes to progress and ultimately secure teaching qualifications, to allow him to teach his profession in the future.
